After further reading of Into The Wild my opinion of McCAndless has remained the same. If anything the reading has made my original opinion of him even stronger. I still feel he is an idealist and he wanted more out of life and that's why he went on his adventure. The readings so far have shown his idealism and the reasons for his romanticised view of nature and how life should be and it is inspiring. It is inspiring but that doesn't mean I plan on following his actions. The reading have supported my opinion that McCandless wasn't insane or crazy but that he was just a guy looking for more out of life and didn't want to be stuck in society. The reading has shown through real life encounters that he could interact with people and in fact he made huge impacts on some peoples life's. The reading strengthened my opinion of him and is continuing to confirm my view of McCandless.

Over the course of the first few weeks of English 101 Bootcamp I learned many new techniques of writing, new terminologies, and new rules of writing. It is difficult to select the most important thing I learned. Since I have to chose only one thing I would say that the most important thing I learned in Bootcamp was that a thesis does not only have to be one sentence. All throughout my years of school they have taught us to narrow down what our essay was about into one sentence. I always had difficulty creating a single sentence to describe what my essay would be about. Especially now in college the number of pages we are required to write, narrowing down everything we have to write about into one sentence is impossible. A thesis is actually recomended to be more than one sentence, which is great because now I feel I can finally write a solid thesis that explains my opinion/argument fully.

Im Ashley, I'm from Northern California. I play soccer on the Washington State womens team. Currently we have to wake up and have fitness practice early in the morning so im absolutly exhausted everyday. Were in Spring season right now but when Fall comes along you guys should come support your lady cougs and watch a game! My interests include playing soccer, obviously, and reading, running, and cooking. I am majoring in nutrition and Im hoping to either be a nutritionist, own my own health food store or maybe having a restaurant. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and trying out this blog!
